For my headshot clients, I offer a session that is designed to get the range of shots for you to use for your personal brand. I shoot all my headshot from chest and up and concentrate on coaching you to produce a number of different facial expressions that capture your unique personality.

Having a range of clothing options allows for more variation within your session. I'll spend whatever time I need to make sure you are happy with the outcome of your session. I wouldn't like you to feel rushed in anyway, we've got time.

For my portrait clients, I like to shoot a variety of looks, lighting and backgrounds as well. These sessions generally last around 2 hours or more which include a wide range of images from headshots to full body.

There is a 50% non-refundable deposit required to book a session.

Throughout the session, we will review the images together and decide whether we're going in the right direction for your personal brand. By making minor course correction as we go, it allows for us to only focus on the best expressions and shots and anything that does not fit in will be deleted.

At the end of the session, you can leave it to me to select the best shots from the entire session. Alternatively, if you'd like to select it on your own, I'd be glad to set up an online photo proofing account for you for an additional fee of 300 MYR.

The price paid above includes unlimited licensing of the image for personal use as well as professional retouching to my specs.

Your image will also be used for my personal marketing e.g. website and social media portfolio.

HEADSHOTS VS. PORTRAITS

During a headshot session, the camera is up close and personal. We'll be capturing and concentrating on shots chest up. I'll be coaching you throughout the entire session to not only get your best shots but also to educate you on what angles and expressions works best for you. I've got light and dark backgrounds, just let me know what you need.

During a portrait session, we get a little bit more creative with the lighting, poses and just vary things quite a bit from the shoot all the way to retouching effects. The camera's proximity to you changes as well so you'll walk away with a wider range of pictures.

ABOUT THE SESSION

You need not feel nervous about the shoot, I'll be there to coach you throughout the entire session. We will be capturing and discussing the shots as we go. I'll consult you on things like expression, what can and can't be done in the retouch as well as making sure we cover the range of shots that you need. This helps me to be able to adjust the focus of the session to ensure you get what you need.

At the end of the session, you can leave it to me to select the best shots from the entire session.

Alternatively, if you'd like to select it on your own, I'd be glad to set up an online photo proofing account for you for an additional fee of 300 MYR.

I'll then work on the retouching and they will be delivered to you between 7 to 14 days later.

CLOTHING

Feel free to bring a range of different options for clothing. Most importantly you've got to love and feel comfortable in it. If you're not, then you most likely won’t shoot well while wearing it. Bring a range of different cuts, colors, and necklines. Avoid large patterns, striking multi colored clothing or stripes as this will draw too much attention to itself. We can discuss about it prior to the session.

For corporate clients, the men can have a variety of jacket/shirt/tie combos and for the women some options of blouse/dress/jacket combos. Keeping jewelry to a minimum is key, studs or small earrings work and simple necklaces, anything hanging, chunky and shiny will usually draw too much attention to itself.

If you wear glasses and have multiple pairs, then I'd appreciate you bringing them along in order to discover their glare factor. Please let me know if you've got the blue-light filter feature on your glasses as they do tend to leave a purple tint in the picture and require additional lighting techniques to get rid of them. We'll need to discuss further on that.

If you have any doubt about whether something will work or not just bring it. You can work with layers; everything from t-shirts, tank tops to sweaters and light jackets. I have one of those standing steam irons in the studio, so we'll be able to easily sort out any wrinkles on the clothing for you.

HAIR & MAKEUP

Women's makeup:

Makeup for the session is not required but recommended for all women. Putting on simple neutral and natural make-up should suffice.

Professional retouching usually covers any minor issues that may arise skin-wise, so there are no worries in that dept. I'd also like to keep you looking as natural as possible. The final picture should still look like you on your best day and not 2 different looks altogether.

If you feel you require a professional make-up artist, just let me know. Subject to availability, I'd arrange for someone who's familiar with the lighting I use and we I usually recommend light and natural make-up to give you a very clean simple look. If you'd like touch-ups as the shoot progresses, I can arrange that with the make-up artist as well. Rates are to be charged by the makeup artist and to be paid directly to him/her.

Women's hair:

I ask that everyone come in with their hair ready the way you would like to present yourself. I want your hair in your pictures to be as close as possible to the way you look on a fantastic hair day.

I'd recommend that you head to your go-to hair stylist for a trim or to blow it out for you before the session.

If you'd like to change styles during the shoot, let me know and we can make a plan at the beginning of the shoot.

Men:

I don't recommend makeup on men.

Facial Hair:

If you’d like to shoot with facial hair I’d be happy for you to come in with whatever level of growth you’d like. Shave or trim it down so that its neat and presentable. I understand that due to religious requirements some of you may not be able to do so - no worries, just keep them need and tidy. Bring whatever grooming products you’ll need with you to get it done.

SCHEDULING & PAYMENTS

Drop me a call to discuss on availability and scheduling. At the moment, I've halted all travelling plans and will only be shooting out of Miri, Sarawak for the time being. Due to the COVID outbreak, I've implemented some safety precautions to ensure the safety of the client and myself. Please click the banner above and familiarize yourself with them.

I've temporarily moved my shooting outdoors (gives us good ventilation and what not) on a nicely shaded area therefore I'd prefer that shoots are done in the morning or evening. I do ask that you don't schedule anything important right after your shoot incase I feel that we need a little more time with you.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to book a spot on my calendar. The balance of the fee is due at the date and time of the shoot session. Cash or bank transfer only.

I work with freelance makeup artists and you will be paying them directly, they require cash or bank transfer on the day of the shoot.
